Today we are speaking with Elisabeth Disterhoft of Inner Light Boston and we are talking all things Psychotherapeutic Reiki. Elisabeth Disterhoft, LICSW and Reiki Master Teacher Connecting with clients from the heart, I seek to understand who you are and what you truly want in life. People come to work with me during times of transition in their lives. Whether it is seeking more fulfillment in relationships or work, having experienced loss or finding a need of self-care after having taken care of others for so long, I am committed to helping you make progress on your goals and guiding you towards your most authentic life. An MSW graduate from Simmons College School of Social Work, I have been providing therapy at outpatient clinics in the Boston area for the last ten years. My experience working in integrative settings, alongside medical professionals and chronic illness, has given me profound awareness into the interconnectedness of the mind and body. I began offering meditation and mindfulness trainings to hospital staff in order to positively impact care for patients. In 2014 I learned Reiki as a form of self-care and it changed the way I worked as a therapist. Reiki allows me to help not only on the mental-emotional level, but also on the physical and spiritual levels as well. Clients find their emotional healing is accelerated with the support of Reiki during therapy sessions and additionally they sleep better, feel less pain and align to their true purpose.
